Born on 28 March 2006 in Celje, Urban Kroflič stands 198 centimetres tall and plays as a guard. Before joining Cedevita Olimpija, he played for Belgrade-based Mega Superbet, where he averaged 27.9 minutes, 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in the 2025/26 AdmiralBet ABA League season. Urban took his first basketball steps in Vojnik before moving to Spain and eventually joining Mega in Belgrade.

Kroflič was the captain of the Slovenian U20 national team that won the European Championship on home soil in Stožice with a perfect record of seven victories. Slovenia defeated Serbia 84:65 in the final to claim the U20 European title. The new Dragon was one of the key players on the Slovenian roster. Across six games at the tournament, he averaged 14.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, while recording an average performance index rating of 18.8. His performances earned him a place in the All-Tournament Team.

Statistically, Kroflič was Slovenia’s most efficient player at the championship, as well as the team’s second-leading scorer, leading rebounder and third-leading assist provider. His performance in the quarterfinal against Türkiye was particularly impressive, as he recorded 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists and played a key role in Slovenia’s progression to the semifinals. He then missed the final due to injury, while he played seven minutes in the semifinal against France before suffering the injury.

Kroflič has also recently taken an important step at senior national team level. During the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, he appeared in five games for the Slovenian senior national team, averaging 9.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He was also a member of the Slovenian U19 national team that finished third at the 2025 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Lausanne, as well as the U18 national team that won the bronze medal at the 2024 U18 European Championship in Finland.
