Captain Jaka Blažič enters the 2026/27 season as one of the most experienced members of Cedevita Olimpija. In the 2025/26 season, Blažič helped the Dragons capture all three domestic trophies—the Slovenian Super Cup, the Spar Cup and the Slovenian national championship. He also helped the team reach the BKT EuroCup Quarterfinals and the AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs. In the regional competition, he averaged 6.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game, while recording 6.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in the European competition. Towards the end of 2025, he also surpassed the milestone of 5,000 points scored in a Dragons jersey.

Over the years, Blažič has become synonymous with Cedevita Olimpija. His fighting spirit, relentless character, professionalism and commitment to the club have earned him a special place among the fans and established him as one of the leading figures in Ljubljana and Slovenian basketball. Throughout his distinguished club career, he has also played for Barcelona, Crvena zvezda, Andorra and Baskonia. He has been a member of Cedevita Olimpija since 2019, with the exception of the 2022/23 season, which he spent with Bahçeşehir. Before that, he played for Olimpija between 2011 and 2013.

Blažič won the EuroBasket title with the Slovenian national team in 2017 and also competed at four European Championships, two FIBA Basketball World Cups and the Tokyo Olympic Games. He concluded his national team career in the summer of 2025 after making 82 official appearances and scoring 728 points for Slovenia’s senior national team.
