Cedevita Olimpija Basketball Club has added Canadian basketball player Noah Kirkwood to its roster. Kirkwood will strengthen the perimeter lineup of the Ljubljana senior team for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
The 26-year-old Noah Kirkwood (199 cm, December 27, 1999) arrives in Ljubljana following a successful 2025/26 season with Polish side Śląsk Wrocław, where he also competed in the EuroCup. In the BKT EuroCup, he averaged 12.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Kirkwood has signed a one-year contract with the Ljubljana club.
“We are very pleased that Noah has joined us. He is a player who can help the team in many different ways. With his basketball IQ, experience on European courts, and team-first mentality, he fits perfectly with our vision for building the roster for the new season,” said Cedevita Olimpija Sporting Director, Chechu Mulero, upon completing the signing.
“We have been following Noah Kirkwood for quite some time, dating back to his days in Bonn, and we also got to know him well last season when he played for Śląsk. He is a versatile player who can play both the shooting guard and small forward positions. In this role, he replaces DJ Stewart, who was an important member of our team over the past three seasons. We believe Noah still has room for growth and that he can take the next step in his career in our environment. Given the current market conditions, we are pleased that we managed to bring him to Ljubljana. He also had financially stronger offers, but he chose our club because he believes we can help him continue his development,” said Dragons head coach Zvezdan Mitrović after Kirkwood signed his contract.
“I’m very excited about the opportunity to play for a club like Cedevita Olimpija. Last season I had the chance to play against this team in the EuroCup, and I really liked its style of play. I felt great in the city of Wrocław, and I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about Ljubljana, so I’m already looking forward to exploring the city,” said Kirkwood after signing with the club.
Noah Kirkwood began his basketball journey at Harvard University, where in his final collegiate season he averaged 17.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. After completing his college career, he moved to the NBA G League, where he played for the Long Island Nets, before continuing his professional career in Europe. He has played in Germany, France, and most recently Poland.
He also spent two seasons competing in the Basketball Champions League with Telekom Bonn and Saint-Quentin. With the German club, he appeared in 15 games and averaged 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. For the French side, he played seven games and averaged 7.6 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per contest.
Kirkwood was also a member of Canada’s youth national teams, representing the U16, U17, and U19 squads. In 2017, he won the FIBA U19 World Championship with Canada’s U19 national team.
