Cedevita Olimpija recorded its fourth win in five preseason games ahead of the 2026/27 season. On Thursday, the Ljubljana Dragons faced Italian side APU Old Wild West Udine in Udine and claimed an 82:61 victory.
For Head Coach Zvezdan Mitrović and his players, the game in Italy represented another important test during the preseason. After four previously played games, the Dragons continued to build team chemistry and competitive rhythm ahead of the start of official competition.
Against APU Old Wild West Udine, the Ljubljana side displayed good energy on defense and a versatile offensive performance. The Dragons had already built a double-digit lead by the end of the first quarter, before Miha Cerkvenik extended the margin to more than 20 points at 37:16. The comfortable advantage established during the opening two quarters proved sufficient for the Slovenian champions to calmly see out the game and celebrate another victory.
Anthony Cowan Jr. led Cedevita Olimpija in scoring with 19 points, Matthew Hurt added 12, while Brandon Murray finished with 11. The Ljubljana team was without Urban Kroflič, Jordan Gainey and Cameron Houindo in Udine, while Maks Ciperle also watched the game from the sidelines.
Cedevita Olimpija now holds a record of four wins and one loss after five preseason games. On Monday, the Dragons will face Zagreb’s Cibona in Stožice in their next test. Their first official game of the new season is scheduled for next Thursday, when they will face Krka in Nova Gorica in the Slovenian Super Cup.
