Cedevita Olimpija squad has prevailed over Zadar in the Round 23 game of the AdmiralBet ABA League in Tivoli Sports Hall with the final score of 80:75.
The senior squad of Cedevita Olimpija is back on the winning track. The Ljubljana squad has prevailed over Zadar in one of the derby games of the Round 23 of the AdmiralBet ABA League, got their revenge for the November defeat in Jazine Sports Hall and grabbed their second win in a row. At the same time, the Dragons have ended their four games long losing streak against Zadar squad and got their first win over the reigning Croatian champions after 26 November 2022.
The battle for the Playoffs will reach its peak in the final seven rounds of the Regular Season. Cedevita Olimpija currently holds 14 victories, Igokea m:tel is above them with a victory more, while Spartak Office Shoes, Mega Superbet, Zadar and FMP Soccerbet follow. The next test awaits the Ljubljana squad next Sunday, when the squad, led by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović from the bench, will travel to Belgrade to meet Mega Superbet.
GAME REPORT:
It has been a game, which Cedevita Olimpija started in a better fashion, winning the opening quarter by 5 points (15:10), but Zadar turned the game completely upside down in the second quarter and led by 4 points at the big break (31:35). Ever since then and almost all until the end of the regular part of the game, the visiting side have been in front, but Cedevita Olimpija got back in the game in the final moments and forced overtime after a free-throw finish. In the overtime, though, the hosts quickly got in front thanks to 3 three-pointers in the opening three minutes and have been in front by 7 points (79:72) as the two squads entered the final 100 seconds of the extra period. As it turned out, this has been the key to their win in the end.
Devin Robinson scored 25 points for the Dragpons. Aleksej Nikolić added 15, DJ Stewart 12 and Danilo Tasić 11.
