DeVante Jones is the newest addition to the Dragon Family!

DeVante’ Jones is a new member of the Cedevita Olimpija team in the position of Point Guard. Before arriving in Ljubljana, Jones wore the Le Mans jersey.

Cedevita Olimpija found a new reinforcement in the position of Point Guard in DeVante’ Jones. The latter wore the Le Mans jersey in the 2023/24 competition season, with which he played in the Basketball Champions League and the French national championship.

“DeVante’ Jones is a team player, who improved his game every season until now. With him on the court, we want him to provide intesity, and to give us the energy that we will need during the season in both international competitions. He is also a good defender, so we count on him to be of great help to us on both sides of the court. With addition of DeVante’, we have concluded our roster on outside playing positions,” said Sports Director of Cedevita Olimpija, Chechu Mulero.

“DeVante’ Jones is a player with potential who showed good energy and character while playing in the French league in Le Mans last season. He is very motivated and wants to improve as a player and as part of a team and to achieve as good of results as possible. Within our budget, he is a player who can progress with the team and help us achieve the desired results. He has quality in the game in defense and in offense, and is still under the radar. Together with Aleksej Nikolić, he should hold the position of the Point Guard in the best possible order. A new team, new people, it will certainly be interesting to put together a homogeneous whole. I’m glad that all the players are very motivated and that they all showed the desire, to participate in this project,” said Zvezdan Mitrović, Head Coach of the Dragons Squad.

I can’t wait to come in and be the best I can be to help this team win multiple championships,” said DeVante’ Jones on signing the contract with Ljubljana’s club.

Before joining Cedevita Olimpija, DeVante’ Jones spent first two years of his professional career in France, where he wore the jersey of the Metropolitans 92 team in the 2022/23 competitive season, and strengthened Le Mans in the 2023/24 season. He spent his college years with the Coastal Carolina Chantilicleers and the Michigan Wolverines.

DeVante’ Jones played in the Basketball Champions League with Le Mans in the 2023/24 season and played in seven games, averaging 12.3 points, 4.9 assists and 2.1 rebounds per contest. He played in 33 games in the French national championship, and in the 27 minutes he spent on the floor on average, he averaged 15.9 points, 5.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game.
