Mark Morano Mahmutovič began his basketball journey at Cedevita Olimpija in the youth teams, quickly drawing attention with his outstanding performances. In the 2022/23 season, he was a key member of the U16 team that won the national championship, shining in the final tournament in Postojna with 37 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the final game against ECE Triglav. The previous season, also in Postojna, he helped the U15 team secure the national title, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the final as the young Dragons defeated Slovan A. In the 2023/24 season, Mark was a key player for the U18 team, which won the national championship in Postojna, contributing 11 points and five rebounds in the final against Slovan A.

His performances in the youth categories earned him a chance to prove himself in the senior team, where he debuted in the 2024/25 Spar Cup matches. This season, he has also excelled in Cedevita Olimpija’s U20 team and the Cedevita Olimpija youth team competing in the 3rd SKL league. In the Spar Cup, he scored six points in the semifinal of the final tournament at Kodeljevo against ECE Triglav and three points in the final against Krka. By the end of the season, he was a consistent part of the senior team, with which he also won the Slovenian national championship.

With his performances at this year’s Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament for U18 players in Munich, he was selected to the tournament’s All-Star Five, averaging 21.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He also gained international experience in the ABA Youth League for U19 teams, averaging 19.3 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game at the tournament in Laktaši.
