In the opening game of the AdmiralBet ABA League Round 13, Cedevita Olimpija have prevailed over Cibona at home in their Tivoli Sports Hall in Ljubljana with the final score of 93:91.

In the opening game of the AdmiralBet ABA League Round 13, Cedevita Olimpija have prevailed over Cibona at home in their Tivoli Sports Hall in Ljubljana. It’s been a game, where the Dragons have been in front for the majority of the playing time and they managed to finally decisively crack the resistance of the visiting side in the second half. This is the 10th win of the season for the Ljubljana squad, which will keep them in the Top 4 when the Round 13 ends.

Until the end of the 2023, Cedevita Olimpija will only play two more games. One in the BKT EuroCup and one in the AdmiralBet ABA League. The Dragons will try to write down their first win of the BKT EuroCup in the 13th round of the season, when they will face Prometey on the road, while on the last day of the 2023, they will face Mega MIS in Belgrade at 12.00.

GAME REPORT:

With 6 minutes to go in the third quarter, Cedevita Olimpija were still ahead by only a point (48:47), but that’s when they made a 14:2 run, that put them up by 13 points (62:49) with 4 minutes left in the third quarter. It seemed like the Wolves would not manage to come up with a proper response to this run all until the end, but they fought back and even managed to tie the game in the very finish. It has been DJ Stewart’s block with a couple of seconds left, that has buried the hopes of the visiting side of a comeback and with only 2 seconds to go, Jaka Blažič scored two free throws to confirm the tight win for Cedevita Olimpija in the end.
