On Saturday, the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija lost to Dubai Basketball in Sarajevo in the sixth round of the second phase of the AdmiralBet ABA League, with a score of 89–84, thus suffering their sixth consecutive defeat in recent form.

In Saturday’s derby of the sixth round of the second phase of the AdmiralBet ABA League, the EuroLeague-level Dubai team proved stronger than the Slovenian champions, winning 89–84. For the squad led by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović, this marks their sixth defeat in a row in recent games.

GAME REPORT:
Spectators at Mirza Delibašić Hall witnessed a closely contested first half, and the game remained tight until the middle of the third quarter, when the home team still held a three-point lead (53–50). At that point, Dubai Basketball went on a 14–2 run, building a 15-point advantage (67–52) with 13 minutes remaining.
Although many watching the game thought the momentum had clearly shifted in favor of the team from the United Arab Emirates, the Dragons (Cedevita Olimpija) delivered an outstanding performance in the final quarter. After a basket by Umoja Gibson with 96 seconds left, they even managed to tie the score at 84–84.
The home team ultimately decided the game in the final minute. With just under 40 seconds remaining, McKinley Wright blocked Gibson, and on the other end, Awudu Abass sealed the final result with a dunk 15 seconds before the end.
The top scorer for the Ljubljana side was Matthew Hurt with 20 points, while Gibson added 17. Thomas Kennedy contributed 12 points.
