With Podčetrtek for the final tournament of the Spar Cup

On Tuesday at 19.30, the players of Cedevita Olimpija will compete for a place in the semifinals of the Spar Cup with Terme Olimie Podčetrtek.

In May, in addition to the fights in the Nova KBM League playoffs, the Cedevita Olimpija basketball players will also face trials in the Spar Cup. Tuesday brings the quarterfinal match of the Slovenian cup competition with Terme Olimie Podčetrtek to Arena Stožice, and the competition system has been slightly changed at the end of the 2020/21 season, so there will be no Game 2.

In the quarterfinals of the Spar Cup, all eight teams that secured their place in the finals of the national championship during the regular season of the Nova KBM League will play, and the winners of the quarterfinals will advance to the final tournament of the four. The Dragons competed with Terme Olimia Podčetrtek twice this season and defeated them twice reliably.

“Ahead of us is a game in the elimination system, if you want to progress you need to win. We of course want to qualify for the final tournament. At home we will have a match with Podčetrtek, which is a very experienced team, with some interesting young players. We had time to rest and train. I expect that we will play with the right energy that we have to show in every match, and that we will play seriously from the first minute of the match and record a victory in the end.”

“The Spar Cup starts for us on Tuesday. The match with Podčetrtek is extremely important for us. We will do everything to get a victory, but we have only one goal in mind, and that is to win the Spar Cup title.”
