Wednesday at home with JL Bourg

Cedevita Olimpija will step on the floor of the Arena Stožice for the first time this season in the 7DAYS EuroCup international competition on Wednesday at 8 pm and face the French JL Bourg. After Sunday’s defeat against competitors from the regional league and the 7DAYS EuroCup, the basketball players of Buducnost VOLI, the Cedevita Olimpija team faces a new difficult test. A series of tough fights with strong rivals on the European and regional scene will be continued by head coach Jurica Golemac on Wednesday at 20.00, when they will present themselves on the home floor for the first time this season in the European Cup, and host French JL Bourg.

Frenchman JL Bourg is an old acquaintance of Cedevita Olympia from the 2020/21 racing season. The Dragons faced the French twice last season in the second part of the 7DAYS EuroCup and won both times. In Stožice, Golemac’s squad celebrated a close victory with 94:91, while in France the difference was higher, the scoreboard stopped at 77:64 in favor of the Ljubljana team.

In the opening round of the new European season, Ljubljana hosted Las Palmas and Gran Canaria after a real thriller and a big turnaround with 79:77. Jacob Pullen shone with 27 points, while captain Jaka Blažič stopped with 19 points and eight rebounds. JL Bourg had to concede victory to Reyer Venezia in the opening European test, which celebrated a 73:62 victory in the EKINOX hall. The top scorer in the JL Bourg jersey was Rasheed Sulaimon with 11 points, and the most effective was Alexandre Chassang with seven points and eight rebounds.

JL Bourg enters the showdown with Ljubljana with a series of three consecutive defeats. The French, in whose jersey we will be able to follow the undefeated Cedevita Olimpija player, Hayden Dalton, this season, in addition to the defeat in the 7DAYS EuroCup, also lost in the last two matches of the French national championship.
