On Sunday at 21.00, the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija will host Zagreb’s Cibona on the floor of the Arena Stožice in the Round 10 of the ABA League, and conclude a series of three consecutive home games.

The hard rhythm of three matches in six days will be concluded by the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija on Sunday at 21.00, when Zagreb’s Cibona comes to the beauty of Stožen. Due to the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the match will be held behind closed doors, the television broadcast will be available at Arena Sport 1, and the Dragons will be chasing their fourth consecutive victory.

The people of Zagreb have already played nine matches this season in the ABA League, and celebrated victory in three. They have lost three times in the last four matches, but when they last stepped on the floor in the regional competition, they beat FMP 93:80 on the home floor. Last Sunday, Cibona beat Zabok high in the Croatian national championship, with 82:53. The most efficient basketball player of Zagreb’s ‘Wolves’ this season is Filip Bundović, who averages 12.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in the ABA League.

The Dragons will step on the cone after securing a place among the top 16 teams in the European Cup for the first time in history with Thursday’s victory against Promitheas in the backlog of the fifth round of the 7DAYS EuroCup. There will certainly be no lack of motivation to prove against Zagreb’s Cibona, and given the fact that three Ljubljana matches have already been postponed this season due to infections, the team of strategist Jurica Golemac will chase their sixth victory in the seventh game.

STATEMENTS BEFORE THE MATCH:

Jurica Golemac, head coach of BC Cedevita Olimpija:
“Cibona is a very dangerous competitor. Players progress day by day. We can find a very talented player in the Zagreb team who could one day play in the NBA. At the same time, many other players are top talents, and the entire team is mixed with experienced players. They also brought in some new basketball players. We do not expect easy work. We have a tough match ahead of us. We will have to do our best if we want the victory to stay at home.”

Ivan Marinković, player of KK Cedevita Olimpija:
“Ahead of us is the match with Cibona, which is certainly very important for us. We are in good rhythm as we have recorded two consecutive wins in the last week. We are aware that Cibona is a very good team, which has been playing better and better lately, and at the same time it has strengthened a lot lately. It will not be easy, but on Sunday we will have to be focused and do our best to keep the victory in Ljubljana.”
