Fourth defeat in the regional league

In the ninth round of the regional league in the Belgrade Sports Hall Ranko Žeravica, the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija suffered a defeat against Mega Mozzart (75:104). This is the fourth defeat for the Ljubljana team this season in the region.

Ljubljana’s Cedevita Olimpija suffered its fourth defeat in this regional season in Belgrade’s Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall. In the ninth round, the Dragons had to concede victory to Mega Mozzart, who recorded a 104:75 victory.

Cedevita Olimpija came across an extremely tough opponent in Mega team in Belgrade. The latter started the match strongly and led by 14 points at the beginning of the second quarter (29:15). When the Dragons started to melt the home team’s advantage, the latter hit again, taking 16 points (50:34) with them to the main break, and started the third quarter with a partial result of 17:2, and moved away to 67:36. The selected players of the head coach Jurica Golemac went on the hunt for rivals, but unfortunately they were unsuccessful, as the players of Belgrade always found the answer to the game of the Dragons, who in the end lost the match with 75: 104.

Captain Jaka Blažič finished the match with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Luka Rupnik scored 15 points. The remaining players did not exceed the limit of ten points scored.

In front of the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija, there is a competitive break brought by the national team campaigns. Jaka Blažič, Edo Murić, Luka Rupnik, Žiga Dimec and Alen Hodžić will be active, who will face Croatia and Sweden in the Slovenian national team jersey, and they will be joined by Blaž Habot, who on loan in Nutrispoint Ilirija. “Our game wasn’t even close to what we agreed on in the locker room. We must take responsibility for this defeat. At the moment, after two high defeats, it is certainly not easy. But even in such cases, you have to stay positive, look ahead, because only then can we turn the season around.”
