Croatian national team started the second cycle of the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Qualifiers with a win against Turkey in Istanbul (79:62). Slovenia will begin the second cycle on Saturday against Ukraine in Stožice Arena.

The Croatian national team entered the clash with the Turks enthusiastically, and after a little less than a minute of play in the second quarter, the scoreboard in Sinan Erdem Arena already showed 27: 7 in favor of the Croatian national team. The Croatians took 21 point-lead (41:24) with them to the main break, and although the Turkish basketball players played better after the main break, Croatia’s victory was never threatened.

Roko Leni Ukić contributed with five assists and two rebounds, and a former Dragon Filip Krušlin had nine points and four assists. In the end, Croatia won with the final score 79:62.

Due to positive cases within the Hungarian national team, the Slovenian national team was left without Monday’s showdown with our northeastern neighbors, but Jaka Blažič, Edo Murić, Alen Hodžić and the team will still step on the floor twice in the second cycle. On Saturday, the Slovenes will face Ukraine, and on Sunday they will face Austria. Both matches will be in the Stožice Arena, and will start at 20.10.
