The new Dragon is sniper Marko Jeremić!

Before the start of the 2022/23 competitive season, Cedevita Olimpija’s team was strengthened in the defender position with Marko Jeremić, who wore the Montenegrin Mornar jersey in the last two seasons.

Cedevita Olimpija’s squad has been strengthened at the defender position with Serbian international Marko Jeremić. 30-year-old Jeremić has experience playing in the regional league, in the last two seasons he wore the jersey of Montenegrin Mornar, and before that he was a member of FMP from Železnik.

“Marko Jeremić is considered a true sniper who always gives his all on the floor. At the same time, he has experience playing in the regional league, last season he also appeared with Mornar in the Fiba European Cup, so he was able to experience playing in a European competition at the club level. We are happy that Marko joined us, as we were able to add another stone to the mosaic of our team for the coming season,” said the sports director of the Ljubljana club, Sani Bečirović, upon signing the contract with Jeremić. The head coach of the Dragons, Jurica Golemac, added: “We are glad that Marko has joined us, and on this occasion I also welcome him to Cedevita Olimpija. We need a long-range sniper, which Marko is, he plays with heart and responsibility, and is also a great defensive player. He has a lot of experience playing in the region, so we also know each other well. He will certainly help us in filling the playing positions 2 and 3.”

Born in Novi Sad, Marko Jeremić began his professional career in Vojvodina, where he stayed until 2015, followed by a transfer to Mladost Mrkonjić Grad, where he stayed for one season. This was followed by a move to Napredak Kruševac, he was also part of this team for one season, and then he joined FMP, where he played between 2017 and 2020. For the last two seasons, Jeremic was a member of Mornar from Bar.

For Mornar, in the 2021/22 season, Jeremić played in six games of the Fiba Europe Cup and averaged 12.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest. He played in 26 games in the regional league and scored 10.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

Jeremić made his debut in the national team of Serbia in the qualifiers for EuroBasket 2022 in 2020, and he played in two matches.
