Cedevita Olimpija has been defeated in the Round 5 of the AdmiralBet ABA League. Igokea m:tel has been stronger than the Dragons in the opening game of the round in Laktaši with the final score of 91:78.
This way, Igosi, that have been on top of their opponents throughout the game, thus having grabbed their new triumph fully deservedly, have got in front of the Dragons in the standings, as they are now on a 3:2 record and Cedevita Olimpija on a 2:3 record after 5 games played each.
The next game in the regional competition is coming up for the Dragons next Sunday, when they will be facing Budućnost VOLI at 18:00 in Stožice Arena. Before that, the Ljubljana side will face Aris on the road in Thessaloniki in the BKT EuroCup.
GAME REPORT:
Igokea m:tel went on to a flying start, taking a 7:0 lead right at the beginning, making their job for the remainder of the game much easier there. As it turned out, these were the key moments of the game, as the visiting side hasn’t managed to get in front afterwards in any single moment of the game. Still, the Dragons, despite plenty of ups and downs, remained close up until the 22nd minute of the game, when the hosts were in front by 4 points (53:49). That’s when Igokea m:tel went on a 19:3 run, that put them ahead by 20 points (72:52) with 13 minutes to go in the game and this has been a point of no return for the Ljubljana side.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Devin Robinson led the way in scoring with 19 points and 5 rebounds on his record. Gregor Glas added 13 points, Rok Radović 12 points and 6 rebounds and Aleksej Nikolić 10 points. Captain Jaka Blažič scored 7 points, while Žiga Daneu had 5 points and just as many rebounds.
