Cedevita Olimpija - Spartak Office Shoes
Cedevita Olimpija faces a new challenge in the regular season of the regional league. The Ljubljana Dragons return to the Temple of Slovenian Basketball, the iconic Tivoli Hall, where they will host Spartak Office Shoes on Sunday at 7:00 PM as part of the 11th round. While Ljubljana’s team has secured four wins and suffered six losses in ten games this season, the situation is reversed for Spartak, who have won six out of ten matches.
After the competition break due to national team commitments, Head Coach Zvezdan Mitrović’s team remains unbeaten in three games. On Sunday, the Dragons will strive for their fifth consecutive victory across all competitions. This season, they have played one official regional league game at Tivoli, defeating Mega just before the competition break.
TICKETS:
Tickets for the game are available at vstopnice.olimpija.com, Eventim Slovenia, and the Petrol Ticket platform. They can also be purchased at all Petrol service stations across Slovenia.
The box office and arena doors will open at 6:00 PM. The NLB “Fast Entry” will once again be operational, allowing quicker access to the hall for visitors presenting an NLB bank card at the entrance.
In line with the “Green Five” project, all fans are encouraged to come to Sunday’s game on foot, by bicycle, scooter, or public transport. Ticket holders can ride Ljubljana Public Transport buses for free three hours before and after the game.
TV BROADCAST:
The game will be broadcast live on Arena Sport Slovenia 1 Premium and Kanal A. The studio coverage will start at 6:30 PM on Arena Sport and at 6:40 PM on Kanal A.
6TH DRAGON AND CHARITY DECEMBER:
The “6th Dragon” corner will again be active, allowing fans to participate in a prize game through the app, which can be downloaded today to contribute to the club’s image. A prize game organized by Kompas Travel Agency is ongoing, offering a trip to Dubai, where Cedevita Olimpija will face the local team. More information is available on our website.
Fans can also win attractive prizes, such as shooting a successful half-court shot sponsored by Zavarovalnica Triglav. Additionally, a “Three in a Row” game by Zavarovalnica Triglav and a VIP ticket giveaway for the next home game will be held.
During all December home games, the socially responsible project “Dragon’s Smile” will collect non-perishable food items, including pasta, rice, biscuits, canned goods, and more. Donations can be left at Tivoli Hall’s entrance near the “Dragon’s Smile” banner and Ana’s Star shopping cart.
QUOTES BEFORE THE GAME:
“Spartak is a very serious club that joined the AdmiralBet ABA League from the NLB ABA League 2 this season. They have a high-quality team, ranking just behind Partizan, Budućnost, Crvena zvezda, and Dubai on the standings. It’s worth noting that Spartak has already played against all these top teams, so they now face a slightly more favorable schedule. They’ve beaten Budućnost in Podgorica and have been competitive against other strong teams. Spartak’s roster includes 14 players, with 2–3 quality players per position. Since they play only one game per week, they are highly focused and well-prepared, making them a very dangerous opponent. We expect a challenging game and need to prepare thoroughly,” said Head Coach Zvezdan Mitrović before the Sunday clash.
“Spartak has already shown this season that they can compete equally with any team, so we anticipate a tough match. We’re looking forward to it. After the national team break, most of us are healthy, with the head coach and Brynton Lemar returning, joined by Andrija Stipanović. We’re playing good basketball, and we need to build on this,” added Rok Radović.
GAME PREVIEW:
Spartak Subotica is debuting in the top-tier regional basketball stage in the 2024/25 season, having earned their place by winning the NLB ABA League 2 title last season. Early in the season, they also participated in the Champions League qualifiers but were eliminated by Juventus with an 87–84 defeat in the first round.
Spartak has defeated Krka, FMP Soccerbet, Mornar-Barsko zlato, Split, Igokea m:tel, and Budućnost VOLI this season. However, they have lost to SC Derby, Partizan Mozzart Bet, Dubai, and Crvena zvezda. Despite these losses, Spartak has shown resilience, even leading against Zvezda for most of their recent game before losing 94–87.
Their standout player is American guard Rasir Bolton, averaging 17.2 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game. Bolton was named the league’s MVP for November.
Cedevita Olimpija has performed well in their last three matches, defeating Hamburg, Borac, and Cluj. In their recent EuroCup game against Cluj, Devin Robinson scored 25 points, while Brynton Lemar added 23.
