Cedevita Olimpija faces 7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys on Wednesday in a critical showdown in the bottom part of the Group A standings. Lietkabelis (2-3) is undefeated at home so far this season and will look to keep that part of its record unblemished against a Ljubljana side that at 0-5 is still looking for its first win of any kind.

Lietkabelis came up short at Umana Reyer Venice 74-71 last week despite 25 points from Jamel Morris. The shooting guard enters Round 6 tied for fourth in the competition with 18.4 points per game.

Cedevita Olimpija comes off its highest-scoring game of the season in an 89-94 loss to Prometey Slobozhanske Josh Adams scored 19 and Yogi Ferrell had 18 points and 7 assists in the loss. Ferrell (19.2 ppg.) is third in the EuroCup in scoring this season and Adams (15.8 ppg.) is tied for 14th.

These two teams have each scored 76.8 points per game this season, but Cedevita Olimpija has allowed the most points to its opponents (89.0 ppg.).

Jurica Golemac, head coach of Cedevita Olimpija:
“We expect a very difficult match. Lietkabelis is a great team that is very well led from the bench. It has been led by coach Nenad Čanak for several years, and the team consists of domestic players, who are all tall and physically strong and know each other well. At the same time, our rivals have several experienced foreign  players in their ranks. They have yet to lose at home, and last season they surprised Žalgiris in the semifinals of the national championship. We have to prepare for a match that will not be easy. We have a long journey ahead of us, but we have to be positive and confident, and at the same time, we have to do everything to record the victory.”

Marko Jeremić, player of Cedevita Olimpija:
“We don’t have much time to prepare for the match, but we certainly have a showdown with a demanding opponent ahead of us, so we have a tough match ahead of us. If we manage to keep the energy from the last match in the regional league, we have a good chance to record a victory. We need it for our confidence, and we hope that we can start winning in the 7DAYS EuroCup soon.”
