Regular season is at the end, playoffs are on the line

The players of Cedevita Olimpija have a day ahead of them that will decide whether we will be able to watch the ABA League final in Ljubljana for the first time since the 2010/11 season. On Tuesday at 18.00, the Dragons will face Mega Soccerbet in the beauty of Stožen.

The regular part of the ABA League is coming to an end, only the last round is in front of the teams, which will answer the question of who will win the last ticket for the finals of the regional competition. Cedevita Olimpija is competing for the last place together with Mornar from Bar. The players of Ljubljana will face Mega Soccerbet on Tuesday at 18.00 in the Arena Stožice, and Mornar will also play against Igokea in Laktaši on Tuesday at 18.00.

To secure a place in the playoffs, the Dragons need a win over Mego, and at the same time, Igokea must defeat Mornar.

Cedevita Olimpija and Mega competed once in the 2020/21 season, and the victory was celebrated in Ljubljana by the Ljubljana team. The best scorer in the team from Stožice was Kendrick Perry, who scored 21 points, 17 by Jaka Blažič, 16 by Rion Brown and 15 by Jarrod Jones. On the other hand, Marko Simonović and Filip Petrušev scored 21 points each.

We will do our best to resist young and talented guys with our energy, who are also accompanied by some experienced players. We definitely have to do our best to end the regular season with a win.”

“After this last couple of games, we definitely want to come out, and play with a lot of effort and energy, and play, the way that we’re capable of playing. I don’t think, that we did that in the last couple of games. The main thing is, that we want to come out and concentrate on us, and be the best team that we can possibly be, and let the result take care of itself. We’ll see, where we’re at after all the games are played for the playoff race. Other than that, we just have to concentrate on ourselves.”
