Prepelič: Fans can expect a lot of fighting spirit and desire!

After two years spent in Belgium, Bine Prepelič is returning to Slovenia, and for the first time in his career, he will wear the jersey of Cedevita Olimpija in the new season.

Bine Prepelič experienced playing at the highest level in Slovenian senior basketball in the jersey of Kansai Helios from Domžale. Cedevita Olimpija faced off in the 2021/22 competitive season, when the two teams met in the final of the national championship, among other things.

“Until 2022, I met with Cedevita Olimpija in the Slovenian national championship in the jersey of the then Helios Suns. I always followed Cedevita Olimpija’s matches in the European competition and the ABA League. A very good and beautiful story is being built and developed in Ljubljana, and I hope that in continue at this or an even better pace in the coming years.”

Given the fact that the teams from Ljubljana and Domžal have faced each other several times in recent years in the battle for laurels in competitions under the auspices of the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, the question of how he will oppose his former club in the first meeting between them was quite appropriate.

“The approach remains the same. Everyone who knows me knows that I always do my best on the pitch and fight for every ball. A few years ago it was in the Helios jersey, now it will be in the Cedevita Olimpija jersey.”

Bine spent the last two seasons in the Belgian collective Spirou Basket, for which he played in 25 games in the first season and scored 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds, and in the second season he appeared in 29 games and recorded 8.4 points, 6 .7 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

“My decision to join the Ljubljana club was mainly influenced by the opportunity to play in two strong competitions, such as the EuroCup and ABA League. At the same time, it is an honor for me to play for a club with such a tradition and organization as Cedevita Olimpija has. “

New teammates and a new head coach await Binet in Ljubljana, the experienced Zvezdan Mitrović, who sat on the Dragons’ bench before the start of the summer.

“I can’t wait to start preparing for the new competitive season. I know that Mitrović is a coach with a lot of experience and knowledge and that he won many laurels. I believe that I will be able to learn a lot from him and thus continue my development as a player.”

For the first time in his career, Bine will also try out in the European Cup and in the AdmiralBet ABA League.

“Both competitions are of extremely high quality, so I expect a high level of competition. Each match will present a new challenge. But the goal always remains the same. To give my best in every match and help the team to victory. I believe that the experience of playing at such a level will give me helped me a lot in my development.”
