Martinas Geben is the new strength of Cedevita Olimpija under both rims in the 2024/25 season, as Geben moves to Ljubljana from Manresa.

The senior team of Cedevita Olimpija will be strengthened under both rings with the 29-year-old and 208-centimeter-tall occasional Lithuanian representative Martinas Geben. The latter signed a contract with the Ljubljana club at least until the end of the 2025/26 season. Last season, Geben played in Spain’s Manresa.

“Martinas Geben is a Lituanian national team player, but he will skip this summer’s action. He had a good season in Manresa, and with him in the squad, he will give us offensive versatility and rebounding ability. The main thing is, that Martinas is a team player, who puts team first, and individual achievements second, and that’s the kind of player, that we want to see in the Cedevita Olimpija jersey,” said Sports Director of Cedevita Olimpija, Chechu Mulero.

“Together with the Sports Director, we followed Martinas through his games in the Spanish national championship. He is an intelligent player, a center who can score from a distance, with a quality and efficient game in attack, he is also good in the transition game, and at the same time he will help us in the game in defense. Of course, we will get to know certain details about him during the preparations and matches in the season,” said Head Coach of Cedevita Olimpija senior team, Zvezdan Mitrović.

“I’m very excited to join Cedevita Olimpia and for my family to start our new adventure in Ljubljana, Slovenia! It’s historic club with great tradition and I’m looking forward to being a part of it,” said Martinas Geben on joining Cedevita Olimpija.

Martinas Geben was a Žalgiris player between 2018 and 2021, and spent the first season as a player on loan at Juventus Utena. At the end of the season, which he finished with an average of 11.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, he was also selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Lithuanian national championship. He moved to Bamberg in 2021, and started the 2022/23 season with the Skyliners from Frankfurt and finished with Manresa, where he played until the end of last season.

With Žalgiris, he won the title of national champion of Lithuania in 2020, and in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, he also played in a total of 53 Euroleague games for Žalgiris. He averaged just over eight minutes per game, averaging 3.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.

In the 2023/24 competitive season, he played in 34 ACB League games with Manresa, averaging 8.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He also played with Manresa in the Basketball Champions League, where he appeared in eight games in 2022/23 season and averaged 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

Geben is also an occasional member of the Lithuanian national team, with whom he played in the 2019 and 2023 World Cup qualifiers, as well as in the 2025 EuroBasket qualifiers. He won a bronze medal with Lithuania at the 2013 Under-19 World Championship.
