In the Temple of Slovenian basketball, the iconic Tivoli Hall, the final day of an extremely strong and attractive tournament is taking place, where Cedevita Olimpija, as part of the Ljubljana Sports Festival, is hosting Panathinaikos, Anadolu Efes, and Bayern Basketball. In the final match, the Greek team Panathinaikos defeated the Turkish team Anadolu Efes with a score of 83:72, while the Dragons suffered defeat by Bayern (66:82) and finished in the fourth place.
Cedevita Olimpija have faced Bayern Basketball in the third place game at the Tivoli Tournament and suffered a defeat, after having offered a strong resistance to the German side.
It’s been a game, where the EuroLeague side of Munich have pulled away by 7 points (18:25) in the opening quarter and never let go of their lead all until the end of the game in Tivoli Sports Hall. In the end, they have celebrated a win with the final score of 66:82.
Aleksej Nikolić was atop of the list of scorers with 10 points scored, while DJ Stewart and Devin Robinson each added 9 points. At Bayern, Oscar Da Silva and Carsen Edwards each scored 13 points, while Devin Booker added 11.
The next preparation game is coming up for Cedevita Olimpija on Saturday, 14 September, when they will be facing Pallacanestro Trieste on the road.
In the final match at Tivoli Hall, the reigning EuroLeague champion was in the lead throughout. The teams exchanged the lead only once, but Panathinaikos secured a double-digit advantage by the end of the second quarter (26:14). In the second half, Anadolu Efes slightly reduced the deficit, but the Greeks pulled ahead again in the third quarter and ultimately celebrated a victory with a score of 83:72.
For Panathinaikos, Jerian Grant scored 14 points, while Ioannis Papapetrou, Marius Grigonis, and Ntinos Mitoglou each contributed 13. For Efes, Daniel Oturu scored 18 points, and Jordan Nwora added 13.
