In the Semi-final contest of the Spar Cup, Cedevita Olimpija has prevailed over Kansai Helios in Kodeljevo Sports Hall and advanced to the Final, where the Ljubljana squad will face Krka Novo mesto.

Cedevita Olimpija has qualified for the Final of the 2023/24 Spar Cup, where the Dragons of Ljubljana will be facing Krka Novo mesto, that was better than Rogaška in the other Semi-final pair.

The Dragons have therefore earned themselves the third consecutive appearance in the Spar Cup Final, and will be chasing their 23rd Cup trophy in the history of the Slovenian National Cup competition. And they will do it against the rivals from the AdmiralBet ABA League, Krka.

The Final will take place on Friday, 16 February 2024 in Kodeljevo Sports Hall in Ljubljana.

GAME REPORT:

Cedevita Olimpija was in front for the majority of the playing time, but in the third quarter, Kansai Helios made a comeback and cut the gap to only a point (54:55) with 4 and a half minutes left to be played in the third. However, that’s when the Dragons replied with a 13:3 run and grabbed a double-digit advantage with a minute to go in the third quarter. As it turned out later in the game, this was the turning point, as the Domžale squad did not manage to fight their way back into the battle for the win all until the end.

For Cedevita Olimpija, Gregor Glas led the way in scoring with 28 points on his record, while Alen Omić added 22 points and 11 rebounds. Luka Ščuka scored 14 points while Nikola Radičević and Jaka Blažič both scored 10.
