Cedevita Olimpija has extended its winning streak in the international competitions in Morača. In the 25th round of the regional league, the Dragons of Ljubljana have prevailed over SC Derby and written down their 14th win in a row in the regional league and 7DAYS EuroCup.
In Morača in Podgorica, where Cedevita Olimpija suffered its last defeat in the international competitions, the squad, led from the bench by head coach Jurica Golemac, has extended its winning streak to 14 games. The Dragons have faced SC Derby without their captain and won 88:80. If we count the games in the domestic championship and domestic cup, the Dragons have therefore won 18 out of last 20 games played.
The squad of Ljubljana will head to Patras in Greece on Monday morning from Podgorica and will face Promitheas of Patras in the last game of the 7DAYS EuroCup on Wednesday.
It has been a close game, in which SC Derby have actually been in front for the majority of the playing time, but they just did not manage to pull away from the visiting side. In the 32nd minute of the game, they have still been up by 4 points (71:67), but that’s when Cedevita Olimpija went on a 13:0 run that lasted for 5 minutes and turned the flow of the game completely upside-down (71:80).
Due to pain in the back, Jaka Blažič did not step on the court this time and cheered for his teammates from the bench. Jacob Pullen was the top scorer of the Dragons this time, as he scored 19 points and he has been followed by Yogi Ferrell, who had 16, while grabbing 5 rebounds. Zoran Dragić scored 12 points, while Melvin Ejim and Edo Murić added 10 apiece.
The Dragons will be back on home court after two away games on Thursday evening and will play next home game in the legendary Tivoli Hall on Sunday, 19:00, when Cibona is coming to Slovenian capital.
