Cedevita Olimpija’s senior team beat GGD Šenčur 94–65 on Saturday in Stožice in front of their home fans in the second game of the national championship semifinal series, quickly securing their spot in the final. The Dragons will play in the final series for the ninth consecutive time, chasing their sixth straight national championship title and their twenty-third overall title in independent Slovenia.
GAME REPORT:
The Dragons started the second game of the OTP banka League semifinal series decisively and already held a nine-point lead after the opening ten minutes (25–16). By halftime, the advantage had grown to ten points (47–37). In the third quarter, coach Zvezdan Mitrović’s players stepped on the gas even more, taking a 19-point lead after 17 minutes of play, effectively deciding the battle for a place in the final.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Thomas Kennedy scored 19 points. Umoja Gibson added 18, DJ Stewart 14, while Aleksej Nikolić and Miha Cerkvenik scored 11 each, and Matthew Hurt contributed 10 points.
