On Friday, the group stage draw for the new BKT EuroCup season took place in Barcelona, where Cedevita Olimpija will once again aim for a prominent position in Europe’s second-tier club competition. The Ljubljana Dragons will compete in Group A during the regular season, facing nine strong opponents from across Europe.

Alongside Cedevita Olimpija, Group A includes: Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (Israel), BAXI Manresa (Spain), U-BT Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Bahcesehir College Istanbul (Turkey), Umana Reyer Venice (Italy), Aris Midea Thessaloniki (Greece), Neptunas Klaipeda (Lithuania), Veolia Towers Hamburg (Germany), and Slask Wroclaw (Poland).

“The draw has assigned us some familiar opponents we faced in the previous season, with only three teams we haven’t played against yet. A challenging regular season awaits us, but we will strive to seize opportunities to advance to the playoffs, which is our main goal. Then, we will see how the competition unfolds. Both groups feature tough opponents and major clubs, promising an exciting competition, but we are ready to fight for victory in every match,” said Cedevita Olimpija’s sporting director, Chechu Mulero, following the conclusion of the group stage draw.

In Group A, Cedevita Olimpija will face some familiar teams from the 2024/25 season. The Dragons have already played against Hapoel Jerusalem, Cluj, Bahcesehir, Umana Reyer, Aris, and Hamburg in the previous season. Neptunas and Slask are returning to the EuroCup, while Manresa will make their debut in the competition.

The competition format remains similar to the previous season—20 teams are divided into two groups of ten. Each team will play 18 matches in the regular season, home and away. The top four teams, two from each group, will directly advance to the quarterfinals, while the third-, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-placed teams will compete for the remaining spots through a play-in round, starting with the round of 16. The bottom four teams in each group will end their season after the regular phase. In the round of 16 and quarterfinals, advancement to the next round will again be decided by a single match.

In the 2025/26 season, Cedevita Olimpija will once again aim for the best possible placement in the EuroCup, with the support of fans in Stožice being crucial. It is already clear that an extremely exciting and intense European season awaits.
