Cedevita Olimpija has suffered a road defeat on Wednesday in the Round 3 game of the BKT EuroCup with the final score of 73:66.

After three games played in the new BKT EuroCup season, Cedevita Olimpija keep moving on empty-handed. The Ljubljana squad has faced Besiktas on the road in Istanbul and suffered third European defeat in a row. The score on the scoreboard has been 73:66 after 40 minutes of playing time.

On Thursday, the squad will head back to Ljubljana and afterwards travel to Laktaši on Saturday, where they will face Igokea m:tel on Sunday, 17:00 in the fourth round of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season. This will be the last game on the road for Cedevita Olimpija before four straight home games, in which the kids up to 15 years of age will have a free entrance. The reigning Slovenian National Champions will be back on European courts next Wednesday, when they Prometey is coming to Stožice Arena.

GAME REPORT:

Since the very beginning of the game, Besiktas, that have started the game with a 5:0 run, have been in front. They led by 3 points after the opening quarter (20:17) and by 5 by halftime (43:38). In the third quarter they went on to increase their advantage to a double-digit number of points in the 8th minute (55:45) and this proved to be enough to enable them to calmly cruise towards a win in the end.

For the squad, led from the bench by head coach Simone Pianigiani, DJ Stewart led the way in scoring with 15 points on his record. Justin Cobbs added 14, while Sean Armand and Amadou Sow had 10 apiece..
