The basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija defeated Śląsk on Tuesday in Wrocław, Poland, by a score of 114:81 in the final, 18th round of the regular season of the BKT EuroCup. With the victory, they took an important step toward securing second place in the standings, but the Dragons will now have to wait for the outcomes of all the remaining games in Group A.

Cedevita Olimpija’s senior squad wrapped up the regular season of the BKT EuroCup in style. In the final game of the group stage, the Dragons—who had already secured a spot in the playoffs—defeated Śląsk in Wrocław by a score of 114:81. The Slovenian champions finished the regular season with two consecutive wins and four victories in their last five games, but they now must await the results of the remaining matches.

With the win in Poland, the Ljubljana-based team made a significant step toward finishing second in Group A, a position that guarantees direct qualification to the quarterfinals of the competition. The Dragons will now have to wait for the outcome of the matchup between Neptūnas and Bahçeşehir, which will tip off on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Klaipėda. In the event of a Bahçeşehir loss, Cedevita Olimpija will finish the regular season in second place and advance directly to the quarterfinals. If the Turkish side wins, the Dragons will enter the playoffs from third place in Group A, which means they will compete in the Round of 16 at home.

In Wrocław, the Ljubljana team also wrote a new chapter in the club’s history—marking the first time ever that the Dragons have recorded 12 wins in the regular season. For reference, in the 2024/25 season, the team coached by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović recorded ten wins, while in the 2021/22 season Cedevita Olimpija finished the regular season with eleven victories.

Before the competition break brought on by national team duties, Cedevita Olimpija still faces the final stage of the Slovenian Cup. On Monday at 6:00 p.m., on their home court at Arena Stožice, the Dragons will defend a six-point advantage from the first leg against Perspektiva Ilirija in the return match of the Spar Cup quarterfinals. Admission to Stožice will be free for all spectators.
