Cedevita Olimpija’s senior team on Thursday defeated Veolia Towers in Hamburg in a Round 17 regular-season matchup of the BKT EuroCup, winning by a score of 88:74 and recording an important victory in the battle for positions in Group A.
In the fight for the best possible placement in the Group A standings ahead of the EuroCup playoffs, Cedevita Olimpija on Thursday in Hamburg, in the 17th round of the BKT EuroCup regular season, defeated the German side Veolia Towers for the second time this season, with a score of 88:74. For the team led by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović, this marked their eleventh win of the current European campaign.
With the victory, the Dragons once again drew level with Bahçeşehir in terms of regular-season wins, as the Turkish side also has 11 victories and holds the head-to-head advantage over Cedevita Olimpija. One win fewer than the Slovenian champions are Manresa and Venezia—the latter defeated the Spanish team on the road on Wednesday for the second time this season. Manresa holds the better head-to-head record against the Dragons, while Umana Reyer’s is worse. First place in Group A has already been secured by Hapoel with their Wednesday win over Cluj.
In the final round of the regular season, Cedevita Olimpija will travel to Wrocław on Tuesday to face Śląsk. The remaining teams still in the fight for top positions will take the court on Wednesday—Bahçeşehir will visit Neptūnas, Manresa will play in Hamburg, and Venezia will host Hapoel at home.
