Heart-Stopping Finish in Venice Goes the Hosts’ Way

Cedevita Olimpija entered the game better than the hosts, already holding a ten-point lead after the first ten minutes and staying in front for most of the contest. The Venetians did not give up and steadily cut into the visitors’ advantage, taking the lead for the first time in the game in the 33rd minute after a three-pointer by Lever made it 70–69.

The crowd at Palasport Taliercio then witnessed a tense finish, in which the balance ultimately tipped in favor of the home team. At the sound of the buzzer, Matthew Hurt had a shot to win the game for Cedevita Olimpija, but his three-point attempt missed the mark.

Umoja Gibson was Cedevita Olimpija’s top scorer with 19 points. Aleksej Nikolić added 12 points, while DJ Stewart and Matthew Hurt scored 10 each.
