The Cedevita Olimpija senior team made an excellent start to the final part of the 2025/26 competitive season. On Sunday in Stožice, the players of head coach Zvezdan Mitrović defeated EuroLeague side Dubai Basketball 93–80, providing a great boost ahead of Wednesday’s EuroCup Round of 16 clash against Chemnitz.
Cedevita Olimpija’s senior team entered the final stretch of the 2025/26 season in outstanding fashion. Led by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović, the team beat EuroLeague side Dubai Basketball 93–80 in Stožice on Sunday, continuing their run of strong performances in front of the home fans. For the Ljubljana side, this marks their sixth consecutive victory recently. In the second part of the AdmiralBet ABA League season they currently have one win, and with victories from the first part of the competition they have a total of twelve.
The win is an excellent boost ahead of the extremely important EuroCup Round of 16 matchup on Wednesday, when Stožice will host the German club NINERS Chemnitz. The Ljubljana team will try to carry their good form from regional competition onto the European stage and secure a place in the quarterfinals in front of their home crowd. During halftime of the game, which took place on International Women’s Day, former players who helped shape the top of the Yugoslav women’s basketball championship standings while wearing the Ljubljana club’s jersey during the former Yugoslavia took to the court of Stožice Arena.
