Cedevita Olimpija squad has grabbed an important win over FMP Soccerbet (82:74) in the Round 20 of the AdmiralBet ABA League.
The senior squad of Cedevita Olimpija is celebrating an important win in the battle for the top spots in the AdmiralBet ABA League standings. The squad, led from the bench by head coach Zoran Martić has prevailed over FMP Soccerbet 82:74 in Stožie Arena and grabbed its 14th win of the regional league season. The Ljubljana squad has prevailed over the Železnik one for the second time this season and made a convincing step towards the Playoffs.
The reigning Slovenian champions have presented themselves without DJ Stewart, while Alen Omić made his debut for the Dragons following his return to Ljubljana.
The Dragons will continue their journey in the regional league in the beginning of March, when they will meet Partizan Mozzart Bet on the road in Belgrade. Before that, they will be competing for the Spar Cup trophy. On Monday 18.00, they will be hosting ECE Triglav Kranj in the Round 2 of the Quarterfinals and will try their best to earn a spot at the final tournament.

GAME REPORT:
With 4 minutes to go in the opening half, the teams have still been tied at the score of 26:26, but that’s when Cedevita Olimpija went on a 2 minutes long 10:2 run, that helped them pull away by 8 points (36:28).
It seemed like these were the key moments, but FMP Soccerbet managed to cut the gap to 3 points just before the end of the 3rd quarter and even took the lead midway through the final quarter (67:68). However, Cedevita Olimpija replied with an 10:0 lead again and entered the final 2 minutes and a half with a 9-point lead (77:68). The battle for a new win was over at that point.
Jaka Blažič and Zoran Dragić topped the scoreboard with 15 points scored apiece, while Justin Cobbs had 14. Gregor Glas finished the game with 12 points and Alen Omić with 11.
