Cedevita Olimpija squad has prevailed over Crvena zvezda Meridianbet of Belgrade on Saturday in the 15th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League season with the final score of 96:86.
Cedevita Olimpija entered the year 2024 in the regional scene and the era of new head coach Zoran Martić with a win over the current vice-champions of the regional competition, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet. In the 15th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League the scoreboard in the legendary Tivoli hall has been showing the score of 96:86 in favour of the reigning Slovenian champions, that have returned to the winning track with their 11th win of the season.
The Dragons are back on the second place in the standings and they own a win more than Partizan Mozzart Bet and Budućnost VOLI and are two wins behind Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, that is still positioned in the first place.
The Ljubljana side will not have plenty of time to celebrate, since it will travel to Vilnius on Monday, where it will face Wolves in the Round 14 of BKT EuroCup on Tuesday, with the tip-off of the game scheduled for 18.00. The Wolves have won the first game 86:78 and Cedevita Olimpija will try its best to score first win in the BKT EuroCup.

GAME REPORT:
Cedevita Olimpija have started the game in the home of Slovenian basketball on the high note and after ten minutes of the game, the Dragons were ahead by 2 points (23:21). In the remainder of the game, they even pumped up the tempo some more and as they finished their 28:6 run, they pulled away by 17 points (42:25) in the 17th minute of the game. The visting side of Belgrade fought back and tried their best to turn the game upside-down again, but could not do so until the very end.
Karlo Matković scored 23 points, while adding 7 rebounds and 5 blocks to his stats. Zoran Dragić had 19 points, DJ Stewart 15, Jaka Blažič 14, Justin Cobbs 12 and Gregor Glas 10.
