In the 13th round of the AdmiralBet, Cedevita Olimpija have prevailed over Mega MIS with the score of 96:82 in their first game of the 2023 and grabbed their seventh win in a row in the regional competition.
In the first AdmiralBet ABA League game in 2023, Cedevita Olimpija have prevailed over Mega MIS and grabbed not only their first win of the new year, but also their seventh regional league triumph in a row. This win puts Cedevita Olimpija firmly in the top of the Playoffs Zone, just under the very top of the standings after 13 rounds and keeps their chances for finishing atop of the competition when the Regular Season ends, as they are now on a 10:2 record.
Alen Omić made history during the game as the only 9th player in the entire regional league history, to have crossed 1000 rebounds grabbed milestone. He now has 1006 rebounds and only lacks three more to move up to 8th place in the all-time AdmiralBet ABA League rebounders list.
Cedevita Olimpija pulled away by 11 points by halftime, but Mega MIS fought back in the third quarter and managed to cut the gap between two teams to 6 points (52:58), with 4 minutes to go in the third quarter. However, Cedevita Olimpija replied with a 10:2 run over the next 3 minutes of play and were ahead 68:54, as only one minute remained in the third. These were the key moments of the game, as Mega MIS did no have the strength anymore to bounce back until the end of the game.
For the Dragons, Yogi Ferrell and Josh Adams led the way in scoring, as each of them has grabbed 21 points. Karlo Matković had 12 and Amar Alibegović 11.
The next game is coming up for Cedevita Olimpija on Thursday, when they will be facing Borac Mozzart on the road in Čačak in the 14th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League season.
