On Tuesday, in Arena Stožice, the senior team of Cedevita Olimpija defeated Crvena zvezda Meridianbet 92–86 in the second game of the AdmiralBet ABA League quarterfinal series. The quarterfinal series now returns to Belgrade, where the decisive third game will be played on Friday.
Stožice has its own magic — in front of their home fans, Cedevita Olimpija’s senior squad defeated the Belgrade side 92–86 in the second game of the AdmiralBet ABA League quarterfinal series against Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, leveling the series at 1–1 in wins. The third game, which will determine who advances to the semifinals, will take place on Friday in Belgrade.
In an outstanding atmosphere that filled Stožice from the first to the final minute of the game, the Dragons delivered a tough and determined performance against the EuroLeague team. The series now moves back to Belgrade, where Cedevita Olimpija’s players will be chasing their first semifinal appearance since the 2022/23 season.
GAME REPORT:
The visiting team quickly took control of the game and had already built a 21-point lead by the 13th minute (18:39). After the early deficit, it seemed that Cedevita Olimpija would not be able to get back into contention for the win, but the Dragons had different plans. In the closing stages of the game, they even took the lead and entered the final minute with a four-point advantage. When it mattered most, the home team stayed composed and secured an important victory to level the quarterfinal series.
Umoja Gibson was the top scorer for the Ljubljana side with 26 points. DJ Stewart followed with 20 points, Aleksej Nikolić added 13, and Thomas Kennedy scored 10.
