Cedevita Olimpija is set to face JL Bourg in Round 18 of the 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season on Wednesday at 20.45 in Stožice Arena.

Bourg (8-9) comes into the round with the possibility of finishing anywhere between fifth and eighth place in Group A. By the time this game tips, those possibilities will be consolidated based on the results of Germani Brescia on Tuesday and Umana Reyer Venice earlier Wednesday. Cedevita Olimpija (3-14), which has a 4-1 record all-time against Bourg, will be last in its group regardless of the result and will try to finish its campaign with a win.

Miro Alilović, coach of Cedevita Olimpija:
“JL Bourg plays a fast game, the French team is very dangerous in fast breaks. They have tremendous athletes at the Small Forward, Forward and Center positions, so we will have to focus on closing down and controlling the rebound, which will be extremely important in this game. Our competitors have a lot of individual quality. They are exceptional athletes, very penetrating, so our defensive play will be decisive, the rebounding and individual responsibility in one-on-one defensive play will also be important. In the ‘pick’n’roll’ game, we will have to pay attention to Axel Julien and his creation for his teammates. On offense, we will try to play as fast as possible so that we can score as many easy baskets as possible. We will have to be patient and smart at the same time. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the teams that made it to the playoffs, and at the same time I wish them the best of luck in the elimination battles. The Wednesday game is the last for us in the 7DAYS EuroCup this season. We won’t know until the last moment which players will step on the floor, but nevertheless we will do our best and try to record a victory in front of the home fans.”

Karlo Matković, player of Cedevita Olimpija:
“We will play the last match in the 7DAYS EuroCup season in front of the home fans. We want loud support from the stands. JL Bourg is a very high-quality team, which we beat on the road in France, and we will try to do the same at home. We want to show the fans that we are an improving team that wants to achieve the best possible results in the conclussion of the season.”
