Before the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija, there is one last home test in the regular part of the 7DAYS EuroCup season. Spanish Valencia is coming to Arena Stožice on Wednesday at 20.00 in the 17th round. Tickets to watch the match are already on sale!

Cedevita Olimpija will end the March Madness on Wednesday at 20.00 with a clash with the Spanish Valencia. The middle match of the 17th round of the 7DAYS EuroCup group stage will be the last home game in the regular season for head coach Jurica Golemec, and until the end of the latter they will play only one more match next week, at Promitheas in Patras, Greece.

It will be possible to watch the live television broadcast of the match on Šport TV 1.

Cedevita Olimpija enters the middle of the match with a series of 12 consecutive victories in both international competitions, of which the Ljubljana basketball players recorded six in a row in the European Cup. Last week in Stožice they beat Umana Reyer from Venice with a score of 105:90, and on Sunday we could witness a real basketball thriller in Tivoli, and in the end the current Slovenian national champions beat Belgrade’s Partizan NIS with a score of 81:79.

Valencia has 11 wins and five losses in the regular season of the 7DAYS EuroCup after 16 games. One of these was scored by Cedevita Olimpija in December, which was better in Valencia with a score of 97:85. In the last four matches of the regular part of the European Cup, Valencia has won three victories, over Virtus, JL Bourg and Umano Reyer, and in the last round last week they took a slip against the Turkish team Frutti Extra Bursaspor (89:92).

Like Cedevita Olimpija, Valencia last stepped on the floor on Sunday, beating Murcia closely, 72:71, in the Spanish national championship. Valencia’s top scorer was Klemen Prepelič with 19 points, but the former player of the Ljubljana club will unfortunately not play in the middle of the match, as he has already finished the 2021/22 season due to a hand injury.

STATEMENTS AHEAD OF THE GAME:

Jurica Golemac, head coach of Cedevita Olimpija:
“Valencia is a strong opponent that is currently at the top of our group in the 7DAYS EuroCup and at the same time at the top of the Spanish national championship standings. We don’t have much time to analyze, so we will try to prepare and regenerate as best we can before the match. We will have to watch their rebounding, as they are among the best teams in the competition in this segment. I invite the fans to join us in Stožice in as large a number as possible.”

Edo Murić, player of Cedevita Olimpija:
“Valencia is a great team that is definitely made up to win the 7DAYS EuroCup title and to play in the Euroleague next season. This is an exceptional club, exceptional players, so we will have to show a very good game. I hope that Stožice will be full, and that we will have a lot of help from the stands, as the fans will definitely give us a strong wind in our backs. We are ready, we can’t wait for the match to start and to face the Valencia team again.”
