Less than 12 hours after winning the 13th round of the 7DAYS EuroCup, the Cedevita Olimpija basketball players set off from Ulm to Split, where they will face Split in the 20th round of the regional league on Friday at 8 pm.
Cedevita Olimpija managed to catch the winning rhythm. On Wednesday, the Ljubljana basketball players defeated the home ratiopharm Ulm 104: 96 in the match of the 13th round of the 7DAYS EuroCup in the German city of Ulm, thus recording their third consecutive victory, the second in the European Cup.
The morning after the celebration in Ratiopharm Arena, the team has already set off for Dalmatia, where it will face the 20th round of the regional league with Split on Friday at 20.00. This will be at the same time the last match of the Dragons in the regional competition before the cup fights and the break brought by the national team campaigns.
STATEMENTS AHEAD OF THE GAME:
Jurica Golemac, head coach of Cedevita Olimpija:
“The match with Split will certainly not be easy. We believe that our rivals have prepared well for us, they play great at home. They beat some favorites, even the showdown with the Red Star was very close. We don’t have much time to prepare for the match, so we’re going to have to be focused, and do our best to come up with a new win.”
Jacob Pullen, player of Cedevita Olimpija:
“We need a victory, we expect to win and we came to Split to win. Split is a team that is fighting at the bottom of the scale to break through to higher places. Split is a basketball city, the club surrounds a lot of tradition and every time I played here it was a good game. We need to be focused and win two new points.”
