Facing group leaders on Wednesday in Kaunas

Cedevita Olimpija continues its road trip in Kaunas on Wednesday, as the Dragons look to face Prometey Slobozhanske in Round 14 of the 7DAYS EuroCup regular season. The squad from Ljubljana looks for its fourth win in the competition to continue with the fight for the spot in the playoffs.

It’s a battle of the first- and the last-placed teams in Group A when Prometey Slobozhanske (9-4) hosts Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (3-10) on Wednesday. Prometey is the only team from this group that has booked its place in the playoffs and enters this game on a six-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the experienced Cedevita olimpija squad needs a win to continue its late-season playoff push and had its confidence boosted after last week’s home win over Umana Reyer Venice.

This is the second time that these two teams play each other in the 7DAYS EuroCup. Earlier this season, Prometey took a  road win in Ljubljana, with the score 89:94.

“Prometey is the hottest team in our group right now. Our rivals are unbeaten in the last 16 games. They play excellent, physical and extremely fast basketball. Their guards are athletic, tall and very penetrating. Very good athletes and shooters. We can’t allow them to run, but we also can’t allow ourselves to lose too many possessions and take stupid shots.”
