Cedevita Olimpija suffered a home defeat by Budućnost VOLI in the Round 22 of the AdmiralBet ABA League, with the final score of 72:80.
This is the 8th defeat of the season in the regional competition for the Dragons and the one that puts them on a 14:8 record, firmly anchored at the fourth place in the standings, behind Budućnost VOLI and Partizan Mozzart Bet and in front of Zadar.
The Ljubljana squad will have to continue to fight their way towards securing a spot in the AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs, as they still need one victory in order to clinch their spot and of course, they will need to keep winning in order to protect their fourth spot, which still guarantees them a home-court advantage in the Quarterfinals.
The regional league season continues on Saturday, 16 March, when the squad, led from the bench by head coach Zoran Martić will face Zadar on the road in Krešimir Ćosić Arena.

GAME REPORT:
Even though Budućnost VOLI has been in front throughout the majority of the game, it came down to a close ending ad with 4 minutes to go, the visiting side was up by only 2 points (66:68). However, that’s when Budućnost VOLI went on a 5:0 run, that pulled them away by 7 points with 3 minutes left in the game. As it turned out later, the Dragons simply did not manage to fight their way back in the game again afterwards.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Justin Cobbs and Shawn Jones led the way in scoring with 16 points on their records, while DJ Stewart added 13.
