In their first preseason match this summer, Cedevita Olimpija faced Telekom Baskets Bonn at home in Tivoli Sports Hall and suffered first preseason defeat as well.
The visiting side went ahead early in the game against the hosts, that played without five first team players – while Edo Murić and Zoran Dragić are preparing for the EuroBasket with Slovenia National Team, Karlo Matković and Lovro Gnjidić are doing just that with the selection of Croatia. Also, Yogi Ferrell did not step on court this time for the Dragons.
Bonn pulled away by 8 points in the opening quarter of the game, as they were up 24:16. They kept cruising in front by halftime, when their lead was 16 points already. The Dragons fought back in the third quarter and cut the gap to only 3 points, heading into the last quarter, where eventually, the Germans broke the resistance of the hosts and prevailed with the score of 91:83.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Josh Adams led the way in scoring with 24 points, while Amar Alibegović added 16.
On Friday, the players and coaching staff of the squad are heading to Sardinia, where they will take part at the international tournament with the teams of Dinamo Sassari, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Monaco. The first test is coming up for the Dragons on Saturday, 20.30, when they will be facing the tournament hosts.
