In the last game of the Nova KBM League Top Six, the young Cedevita Olimpija squad has suffered a defeat by Krka at home in Tivoli Sports Hall.
Cedevita Olimpija has faced Krka this time with only four members of the senior team (Dan Duščak, Alen Hodžić, Luka Ščuka and Mirko Mulalić) and eight players in total. It was of no surprise therefore, that Krka has been a dominant force throughout the clash and celebrated a convincing win in the end with the score of 78:112
The visiting side has started the game strongly and went up by 18 points already in the opening quarter, while scoring no less than 39 points in the first ten minutes of the game. The squad, led from the bench by head coach Miro Alilović has continued to cruise towards the win in the end after a 21:38 lead right at the beginning and prevailed in the end.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Alen Hodžić and Luka Ščuka led the way in scoring with 17 points apiece.
As the Top Six part of the Nova KBM League has come to an end, Cedevita Olimpija continues the Nova KBM League season in the Quarterfinals against Krka. The Game 1 will take place on 6 May 2022, 19:00 in Leon Štukelj Sports Hall.
The focus is now turning to the regional competition, where the Dragons will face Igokea m:tel in Game 2 of the Preliminary Round of the Playoffs on the road in Laktaši on Wednesday, 4 May 2022.
