Cedevita Olimpija has suffered second defeat in the regional league this season in the sixth round game against FMP Meridian. The Dragons suffered a 90:85 defeat in Tivoli.
the Match of the sixth round of the 2022/23 season, FMP Meridian have outgunned Cedevita Olimpija on the road in legendary Tivoli Sports Hall in Ljubljana. For the Panthers of Belgrade, that are having a dream season so far, this is the fifth win in the opening six rounds and they find themselves just under the very top of the standings after Round 6. On the other side, Cedevita Olimpija are currently on a 3:2 record, in the middle of the AdmiralBet ABA League standings.
Cedevita Olimpija did win the first quarter with the score of 24:20, but FMP Meridian turned the things completely upside-down by the halftime, when they have been in front by 3 points (40:43). The main thing by the Panthers, however, came in the third, when they earned themselves a double-digit lead, with a 12:0 run between 22nd and 25th minutes of the game, which put them up by 15 points (45:60) with just as many minutes left in the game. As it turned out later in the game, this has decided the outcome, as the Dragons just did not manage to make it an even game again all until the very finish, when they simply lacked time to turn things around.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Yogi Ferrell and Amar Alibegović led the way in scoring with 18 points on their records, apiece.
It’s worth mentioning that in this game, Alen Omić entered the Top 10 all-time rebounders of the AdmiralBet ABA League with 944 rebounds on his record.
After the National Team Windows, the Dragons will be back on court on 19 November, when they will face Igokea m:tel on the road in Laktaši in the regional competition.
