In the 2023/24 competition season, we will also be able to follow the senior team of Cedevita Olimpija in the second strongest European basketball competition, the 7DAYS EuroCup. Dragons will compete in the European Cup for the fifth season in a row.

Cedevita Olimpija will compete in the 7DAYS EuroCup for the fifth season in a row in the 2023/24 competition season. The Ljubljana Dragons, who will be led from the bench in the new season by the Italian strategist Simone Pianigiani, face new challenges on the European stage, and they will try to improve the result from the 2022/23 season, when many health problems had a strong impact on the games of the current Slovenian national, cup and super cup champions.

However, the 2021/22 season is still alive in the memory of the fans, in which the players of Cedevita Olimpija made it all the way to the quarter-finals of the competition, they also sold out Stožice in the match against the Turkish team Frutti Extra Bursaspor, but unfortunately in the end they were just a fraction of a second too short, because Jacob Pullen’s shot to clinch a spot in the semifinals was not scored in regulation.

In addition to Cedevita Olimpija, the teams 7Bet-Lietkabelis, Aris, Beşiktaş, Budućnost VOLI, Dolomiti Energia Trento, Dreamland Gran Canaria, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Joventut Badalona, London Lions, Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, Paris Basketball, Prometey, ratiopharm Ulm, Slask Wroclaw, Turk Telekom, UB-T Cluj-Napoca, Umana Reyer, Veolia Towers Hamburg and Wolves Vilnius will also compete in the European Cup in the new season.

The 7DAYS EuroCup will be held in a modified format in the 2023/24 season. Twenty teams will continue to be divided into two groups, and six teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs, instead of eight, as it has been until now. The two best teams from the groups from the regular season will go directly to the quarterfinals. While the matches of the round of 16 and the quarter-finals will once again be played on a one-elimination basis, the semi-finals and the final will be played in a best out of three format.
