The Slovenian men’s national team will compete for a bronze medal with Australia at the Olympic Games in Tokyo on Sunday. After a real drama, the selected players of the selector Aleksandar Sekulić lost the semi-final match with France on Thursday (89:90).

The Slovenian national team suffered a defeat against the French national team in the semifinals of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The 2013 European champions defeated the 2017 European champions by 89:90. On Saturday, Slovenia will play for third place with Australia.

Slovenia opened the match perfectly on the wings of a very good game between Luka Dončić and Mike Tobey, and took two points (44:42) with them to the main break. In the third part of the game, the initiative on the floor was taken by France, but Slovenia did not give up so easily. Jaka Blažič opened the last part of the match with a triple, which gave the Slovenian national team wings, and we watched the heart attack final. Just before the end of the match, Klemen Prepelić had the opportunity to bring victory to Slovenia by passing, but his throw was blocked by Nicolas Batum.

Jaka Blažič scored 14 points and five rebounds, while Žiga Dimec scored four points. Edo Murić was left without a point in five minutes of the game, but Luka Rupnik did not step on the floor. Mike Tobey finished the game with 23 points and eight rebounds, Klemen Prepelić scored 17 points, and Luka Dončić was again amazing with 16 points, 18 assists and 10 rebounds.
