Aaron Harrison is coming to Ljubljana

American basketball player Aaron Harrison, who played for Turk Telekom in the 2022/23 season, but ended the season early due to a knee injury, is coming to Ljubljana.

We managed to do that, and we will be joined by Aaron Harrison, who fans of European basketball may remember from his performances in the Turk Telekom jersey from last season, and before that he was part of Galatasaray and Olympiacos, and those who love the NCAA will definitely remember him in 2014, when in a Kentucky jersey, he led his team to the final tournament of the March Madness with some key shots. Harrison has experience playing in the EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup, and we will do everything to ensure that he fits into our game system as quickly as possible, gets to know his teammates and helps us to the best of his ability,” said Cedevita Olimpija’s sports director, Sani Bečirović, upon signing the contract with Harrison. He is a player who has a lot of experience playing in Europe, meaning the Euroleague and 7DAYS EuroCup. Aaron is a very good player and a good person. We are pleased that he is coming and we are sure that he will to help us.”

Harrison has experience playing in the NBA, Euroleague and 7DAYS EuroCup. In the 2020/21 season, he appeared in 27 Euroleague matches for the Greek Olympiacos, eight of which he started in the starting five of the Greek giants. He averaged 6.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest. He made 37 career NBA appearances, including two in the playoffs. Between 2015 and 2017, he wore the Charlotte Hornets jersey in 26 games of the regular season, and in the 2017/18 season he played nine times for the Dallas Mavericks.

His sports path then led him to the Turkish Galatasaray, where he stayed for two seasons, and in the 2019/20 season he scored 15.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in the 7DAYS EuroCup. A move to Olympiacos followed, and he returned to Turkey before the 2021/22 season.

Harrison comes to Cedevita Olimpija after spending the 2021/22 season in the Turkish team Turk Telekom, which was eliminated from the fight for the top spots in the 7DAYS EuroCup by the Ljubljana club. In the Turkish national championship, Harrison played in 12 games and averaged 13.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He played in seven games in the 7DAYS EuroCup and averaged 16 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Harrison ended the season early due to injury.
