Žiga Daneu Continues His Career at the University of San Francisco

By mutual agreement with KK Cedevita Olimpija, Žiga Daneu will continue his career at the University of San Francisco, where he will pursue the next chapter of his basketball journey in the United States.

Žiga Daneu has been part of the Cedevita Olimpija setup since his early youth. His grandfather is legendary Ivo Daneu, while his father is Jaka Daneu. Both have, in their own way, left a significant mark on the Ljubljana club and Slovenian basketball. In the meantime, Žiga also developed his game with Ljubljana-based Ilirija and Kansai Helios from Domžale before returning to the Ljubljana club ahead of the 2024/25 season. In 2024, he was also named the Most Valuable Player of the Slovenian Super Cup in Laško.

During the 2025/26 season, Daneu made eight appearances in the EuroCup and eight appearances in the ABA League. In the regional competition, he averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, while in the EuroCup he averaged 0.6 points and 0.9 rebounds per game.

During his time with Cedevita Olimpija, Žiga Daneu was an important part of the team and the club’s story, leaving his mark on the Dragons with his hard work, energy and dedication. He was also an ambassador for the socially responsible One Team project, which Cedevita Olimpija carries out as part of the Euroleague Basketball organisation.
