Cedevita Olimpija will face Novo mesto’s Krka in the semi-finals of the Spar Cup on Thursday at 8.30 pm. The final tournament will take place for the third consecutive season in Ljubljana’s Kodeljevo Sports Hall. All matches of the tournament will be broadcast live on Sportklub.

This season, Cedevita Olimpija and Krka competed three times, and in all three trials, the Ljubljana basketball players celebrated their victory. The last time the teams met was in the 14th round of the regional league in Novo mesto, where the team of head coach Jurica Golemac won 90:83 in the last quarter after a turnaround. In the last period, the people of Ljubljana have recorded five consecutive victories. In the regional league, Krka has not won 12 consecutive matches, but on Monday it defeated Gorenjska gradbena družba Šenčur 84:65 on the home court in the Nova KBM League.

On the way to the semifinals of the Spar Cup, Cedevita Olimpija eliminated Zlatorog from Laško with two reliable victories from the battle for the cup laurels, while Krka, which is defending the title of cup champion from the 2020/21 season, was twice sovereignly better than Šentjur.

The Ljubljana and Novo mesto clubs will meet in the semifinals of the Spar Cup for the third season in a row. Both in the 2019/20 season and in the 2020/21 season, the passenger in the finals was decided by a throw in the exhales of the match.
