It’s game night on Saturday evening in the ABA League for the Cedevita Olimpija players, as the Dragons will host MZT Skopje Aerosrom in Round 5 of the regional league.
In Tivoli Sports Hall, Cedevita Olimpija will be hosting MZT Skopje Aerodrom on Saturday night at 18.00.
It’s a game with two squads, that have totally different stories this season. While Cedevita Olimpija started the season with two victories, they have suffered the first defeat in the Round 4 of the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League season.
On the other side, the newcomers MZT Skopje Aerodrom have suffered defeats in each of the opening three rounds of the season, but have bounced back in Round 4 at home court in Jane Sandanski Arena in Skopje, to prevail over SC Derby and achieve their first success this season.
“MZT is a serious team that is well composed, it is a combination of experienced and young players. Some of them are extremely talented. Our rivals are good shooters, at the same time they are fast, so we have to stop their transition. We have to play more physically, and at the same time we have to to dominate in the rebounding departement and try to quickly move the game to the offense. The key to victory will be mainly the game in defense,” said the head coach of the Dragons, Jurica Golemac, before the match in the Tivoli hall.
“There is certainly a new challenging test ahead of us. MZT is an experienced team, which consists of many returnees to the team, it is also necessary to highlight the Stojanovski brothers, who have been playing at a high level for a long time. For us, Saturday’s match is extremely important, as we want to win the home games to boost our confidence, but at the same time we have to find a way to win with all the things that are happening to us. Above all, everything has to come from playing in defense, but at the same time we have enough experienced players who know how to win such games,” said Marko Jeremić, who is averaging 9.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in this regional league season, before Saturday’s match in the Tivoli Hall.
