The Slovenian men’s national team recorded its second victory in the second round of the group stage of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. With 116: 81, the Slovenes beat Japan.

The players of the Slovenian national team remain undefeated at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In the second round of the group stage of the competition, Slovenia defeated Japan 116: 81.

The Japanese strongly opposed the Slovenes, but this did not confuse the Slovene national team. Persistently and slowly, the selector Aleksander Sekulić’s team broke the resistance of the Japanese national team and led by 22 points in the third quarter (74:52). In the last quarter, Slovenian basketball players scored as many as 36 points, the Japanese only 17, all Slovenian players were among the scorers, and in the end the difference was 35 points (116: 81).

Jaka Blažič scored 10 points this time, Edo Murić and Luka Rupnik stopped at four, and Žiga Dimec scored two points. At the same time, Edo collected seven rebounds, Jaka four, and Luka successfully dished out four assists. The best scorers of the Slovenian national team were Luka Dončić with 25 points and Zoran Dragić with 24 points.

Slovenia will step on the floor again on Sunday at 10.20 Slovenian time, when it will face Spain in the last round of group work.
